Beyond Motherhood

My son is turning 6 yrs old November this year. He is a picky eater, eat on the run (I mean run n eat), non-stop talking (sometimes just cannot tahan that I have shout and ask him to stop), cannot sit still, he’ll play, run, talk from morning till evening (he seldom sleep during the day) the only time what I called rest for him is when time to go to sleep at night. Very imaginative sometimes his imaginations surprise me. Ask question a lot, if no answer given, he’ll ask again and again (his normal question is “tell me the full reason why”). He asks about “why God make this and that, why Jesus has to die, Jesus happy or not etc..etc. and that’s my boy. He has an identity of his own kind of style and it’s all God design.

Despite of her flu, this is what she has been doing yesterday for almost 2 hours she is having fun with the watercolour.

My boy was asking me about his Chinese name the other day. He started the conversation by telling me his friends at school. He said, “All of them got Chinese name. Why I don’t have?” He insisted to have a Chinese name. Because he said daddy is a Chinese and that he should be given a Chinese name. So I asked him “Is it important?” He replied, “Yes, because I can speak Chinese and my friends are Chinese” (mmmm….)

When he was born I didn’t bother of giving him a Chinese name. I’m not Chinese but hubby is so he is mix lah. Too late to give him Chinese name now…

One of my concerns when I become a mother was to potty train my kids. I have no idea how to do it. I’ve read about potty train articles and heard stories how successful they are in doing it. For me being an impatient mum, it’s hard to make it happen. So what I do is I let it come naturally just flow with them. My son manages to go to toilet by himself when he was almost 2 1/2 years. I know there are other kids who have been toilet train as early as 1 year.I think girls are much easier to train than boys. My girl successfully phee herself inside the potty last Saturday (23 Feb). I was doing something when I heard her calling my name. “Mummy..mummy see shee..shee inside potty” then she continue “Good girl”. She was so happy and she has been without diapers during daytime for 3 days now.
