Property

March 10th, 2010 No comments

Searching for a house can be very tiring and this is what happen when we were looking for a house a year ago, we search for a number of avenues nothing comes close to my expectation. Then at one time after hours surfing the net, I came across Outer banks foreclosures properties. Never in my thought that I can find so many good properties at such a reasonable price. This is one of the areas I would recommend to search if you are looking for a property.

Competitive Mum Syndrome

March 5th, 2010 3 comments

This is so funny that I need to share. Taken from a mother and baby magazine. How to tell if you are an over-competitive mum.

1. You start reading Lord of the Ring to your baby and tell everyone at your mothers’ support group how much she enjoys it.

2. You make sure that you and your tot are fully coordinated in the latest Guess outfit for lunch with the other mums.

3. You help your toddler build a sand castle in the playground and then pretend that she did it single-handedly.

4. You speak to your baby in French – even though you have no connection with France and the only French words you know are bonjour, merci beaucoup and sauvignon blanc.

5. You demand a re-count when your baby fails to win the ‘baby idol’ contest at a baby fair.

6. When your child learns to walk before his first birthday, you give your top-of-the-range stroller away to a friend whose baby ‘still really needs it’

7. You carry you baby’s health book around in your handbag just in case a stranger wants to see how much weight he has put on.

8. You realise that you have more toys and equipment than the playgroup your tot is attending.

9. You keep a video of your child’s first word running on a loop on your TV when your friends and their babies come around.

10. You not only frame your child’s first doodles, but have them copied and frame as Christmas presents for family and friends.

So are you in this syndrome? I am proud to say that all my kids walk before their first birthday, but I never give my stroller away (he..he..). As I am typing this post I’m admiring my newly purchase netbooks.

Lose Weight Wisely

March 5th, 2010 No comments

I will definitely agree that breastfeeding play a significant role in post-pregnancy weight loss. It helps the uterus to shrink down allowing the stomach muscles to reform. It can be hard to lose pregnancy weight, because mom spends so much time dealing with the demands of the newborn. Taking diet pills such as clinislim can be quite tempting. Obsessive dieting is never a good idea, especially in earlier months as breastfeeding mother need to increase energy intake in order to produce milk.

So lose weight wisely by having and planning a healthy diet. I’m sure there are lots of eating plan example selections on the net that you can download.

Prenatal vitamins

March 5th, 2010 No comments

Prenatal vitamins is one of the nutritional supplements that pregnant mothers are advised to take. Doctors automatically prescribe prenatal vitamins. For all my 3 pregnancies I never consistently consume them. In fact I never take prenatal vitamins during my first pregnancy. I never like to swallow them. It is said that it’s the benefit for mother and her baby. Are There Problems With Taking Prenatal Vitamins? Well.. For me it causes nausea feeling whenever I consume them.

Vacation

March 5th, 2010 No comments

Yes! We are still considering of having a family vacation next year (if budget permitted). If these really happen then these will be our first family vacation after having the third child and first vacation for little ‘C’. A few places come into the plan. Places like Maui vacation rentals are definitely a good choice if only we can afford. We shall wait and see.

Sewing : Tote Bag

February 26th, 2010 2 comments

After my first project adventure in sewing, I have tried making other items like handbag, skirt, pants and dress. I admire those mummies who really can sew and have a creative mind. I can’t come out with an instant idea to create a sewing pattern on my own. But thanks to the online information which has lots and lots of great idea and free pattern to download. I have so much fun learning and downloading those patterns, and I have not allocated a place for my sewing room at home. We have 2 empty rooms, and I shall start working and decorating the sewing room which I don’t know when it can be done. When it is up maybe I can start another adventure, making personalized photo mug. Hehe… hubby was saying.. ‘You have not even completed your sewing project’… I saw a shop having promotional mugs recently, and I was so tempted to own those mugs.

Anyway on another sewing project update, I made a tote bag for my girl. A tote bag made from her used outgrown pants. A combination of 2 used pants, then I cut it into 16 rectangle pieces and voila! A tote bag. I use my used jeans short pants for the letter ‘B’. I suddenly realize that I have a lot of used clothes which we don’t use anymore, and I might as well use it for my sewing thing. I bought quite a number of fabrics recently, and I have not started using them. So much for sewing post, I shall end it now.

Kids: Annoying Attitude

February 26th, 2010 No comments

If there is one thing I find the most annoying attitude that my kids use to do during our shopping for grocery is playing with the wall mount barcode scanner. Both son ‘A’ and girl ‘B’ loves playing with it. They will find their usual items, which are the toys not one but two or three on their hand. Sometimes I give up of asking them not play with it as they will repeat it again after being told. So what I do is asking the security to tell them not to play. It works better sometimes. Do you have similar experience?
