Fathers are wonderful people

June 9th, 2010 1 comment

Fathers are wonderful people
too little understood,
And we do not sing their praises
as often as we should…

And Father struggles daily
to live up to “his image”
As protector and provider
and “hero of the scrimmage”…

And perhaps that is the reason
we sometimes get the notion
That Fathers are not subject
to the thing we call emotion,

But if you look inside Dad’s heart,
where no one else can see,
You’ll find he’s sentimental
and as “soft” as he can be…

And like Our Heavenly Father,
he’s a guardian and a guide,
Someone that we can count on
to be always on our side.
- Helen Steiner Rice

For all the fathers out there this poem is for you. I never had a chance to play with my father as he passed away when I was little. I remember my mother told us about him and how he looks great during their wedding day with his tuxedo vest on. Well…. not really a tuxedo but similar pattern.

Event organising

June 3rd, 2010 No comments

We attended a parent’s day event last week at the nursery where we send our kids. The kids were having a show on that day including my girl. “I’m going to show you my dance” she says a few days before the event. She even practice so hard at home trying to memories the dance and song lyrics at the same time.

On the day of the event we arrive early. My girl was so excited. The place was filled with a decorated flowers.I was just imagining if I were assigned to decorate the place I could use a trade show flooring and trade show carpet. Printed logo mats with different styles and I will use an outdoor tent with printed logo canopy. I will make it a big event like a trade show. How I wish.

Anyway my girl was a bit shy on that day she didn’t even move her body. She just stood there watching another children dancing. Back at home she starts singing and dancing again, in fact, until now.

Adjusting

May 29th, 2010 No comments

I have been neglecting my sewing project for awhile now. I have abandoned the dresses and other stuff that I need to sew. The personalized door mats that I wanted to learn to sew are also on hold for now. I’m trying to adjust my time, schedule and the situation at home as I have decided to go back to work. I have started working for two weeks now and the kids are also adjusting themselves in the day care. In the meantime, hubby will be outstation for a month, and I bet my time will be limited and for sure mummy and the kids will miss him.

Little C : 13 Months Old

February 8th, 2010 No comments

He is 13 months old today. He has his first swim last Saturday. Here are pictures to share. I’m working on another sewing project for my girl. So far, I have made a skirt, 2 dresses for my girl, a collar shirt and pants for my little C. My time has been so occupied with all the sewing and I’m hooked to it.

His 1st Birthday

January 9th, 2010 2 comments

He turned 1 year yesterday 8 January. The first year of his life has passed now welcoming the toddler years. He has been walking by himself, since he is 9.5 months old, and now he is running. Happy 1st birthday little C. I wish we could celebrate your first birthday at myrtle beach sc..

I’ve a wonderful Boy, and I say to him, “Son,
Be fair and be square in the race you must run.
Be brave if you lose and be meek if you win.
Be better and nobler than I’ve ever been.
Be honest and noble in all that you do,
And honor the name I have given to you.

I have a boy and I want him to know
We reap in life just about as we sow,
And we get what we earn, be it little or great,
Regardless of luck and regardless of fate.
I will teach him and show him the best that I can,
That it pays to be honest and upright, a man.
I Have a Boy poem by Hugh M. Pierce

Sibling Moments

January 6th, 2010 2 comments

There are no other pleasant moments than watching my kids playing and become the best of friends with each other. Though it is common for brothers and sisters to fight, but it is also a moment that strengthens their bonding and sometimes a normal fight is necessary for them to grow and learn many things. I know it is upsetting to see and hear when everything goes smoothly and suddenly ruins by their unpleasant attitude such as fighting and that’s where the mummy comes to the rescue.

There is time where I’m undecided whether or not to interfere in a particular situation. So without much talking I would separate the two of them one on the left corner and the other on the right. I would ask them to sit still, no talking and think what they should do next. After a few minutes, it is my boy who initiates the action by saying sorry to my girl, and they become friends again. What a moment! I wonder whether one of them would become a lawyer when they grow up.
