The End of 2009

December 31st, 2009 2 comments

Philippians 4:6 (Amplified Bible)

Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.

Today is the end of 2009. Looking back to the year that I decided to be a stay at home back in 2008, I can’t believe that 2009 my second year journey as stay at home mom has ended. 2009 has definitely brought bitter and sweet memories, and it was also a year for me to learn accepting the fact that I am a stay at home mom. I now can gladly say that I am 80% accepted the fact and 90% sure that I won’t go back to work again. However, if I do decide to work, I choose to work at home, and I am saying no to the job offer for next year.

So, for 2010 I wanted to enjoy the beauty of being a stay at home mom, enjoying my kids, the family time together, and be a mom who makes a difference not only for myself but in the life of my family, especially.

For my record, so far….

2008The year when I made a decision to be SAHM and also a year where I am adapting and adjusting my life as a newly SAHM. The first couple of months were wonderful. After that things started to look a bit different, the feelings of loneliness and how I missed my friends at work, I really don’t like that feeling. Not forgetting the doubts I have about whether I had done the right thing by leaving my job. However, the most exciting and wonderful about this year was that I make discoveries about myself and life in general. Not a unique discovery but I must say that my kids are not the only ones who benefit from having me to be at home.

2009 It was a year of accepting the fact as SAHM and also my second year journey. It was hard to remember what it was like to go to work everyday. I am more a less adapted to the new lifestyle and the birth of my third child strengthened my decision of being a SAHM, and I really need to look deep inside me. Changes make us grow and I can say that this year has proven that for me.

I am ending the year of 2009 with an open heart, open mind and looking forward to the new discoveries in 2010.

Father, Thank You for the Year 2009! There is so much to be thankful for. It was a year of bringing something new and something unknown and yet you sustained us. I thank you and glad for the discoveries about myself and life in general. Thank You for the continual demonstration of Your Love! As we are entering the New Year 2010, I pray for joy, love and peace to rest upon my family, and Lord I’m praying for a new level of wisdom, understanding and revelations to come. AMEN!

Digital Satellite TV

December 19th, 2009 2 comments

Remember the old days (If we were old enough) when we had our little black and white television in the living room. Looking at the pathetic resolution, non-colored motion pictures, almost soundless, nevertheless, most of us during that time were so amazed by this new technology.

Since then the delivering system for motion pictures had come a long way, and today we are so spoilt for choice with so many Direct TV operators offering high definition, hundreds of digital channels, digital surround sound, etc. Costs have also reduced tremendously thanks to the healthy competition among this Satellite Directv operators.

Here in Malaysia, Astro is the only operator but in the US, DirectTV is one of the major operators, which offers many channels to their subscribers at a small fee and their customers can enjoy crystal clear pictures and quality sounds at the comfort of their home. To subscribe, all you have to do is go online or visit their branch to register. In addition, during this festive season you can enjoy promotions by these operators.

Christmas Filling

Christmas is next week and my kids will say “Yeah! So what did you buy for my Christmas present?” People are rushing shopping for gifts, filling the home with decorations, Christmas tree, food and what else, check the list. I overheard a mom says “my schedule is full with Christmas to do list, I need to finish this, finish that, my kid’s, gifts, clothing, food and others and I need to rush”. Sound familiar? Well, nothing wrong with that, it is where we off balance our priority and sometimes too much focusing on the task list drains our energy.

Here’s the email I received today from Nancy Campbell founder of Above Rubies Magazine. Great and I am thankful for this reminder. Hope it does for you too.

The challenge is: what are we going to be filled with this Christmas? It should be a time to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Imagine if we spent as much, or more time, seeking to be filled with the Holy Spirit as rushing around buying gifts and preparing for Christmas. What would happen? Imagine if we took time to listen to the Holy Spirit. What would we learn? What would He say to us? What difference would it make in our lives and in our homes? Imagine if we asked the Holy Spirit to lead us instead of doing our own agenda. How would He direct us? Who would He lead us to speak to? What kind of Christmas would we organize?

Don’t you think it would be exciting? The birth of Jesus was not ordinary. It was supernatural. Everything that happened was miraculous. People were filled with the Holy Spirit and led by the Holy Spirit.

Why don’t we put aside our own agenda for a moment and ask the Holy Spirit what He wants us to do. Let Him direct us and lead us at this Christmas time. Let’s be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Decorating For The Holidays Blog Hop

December 14th, 2009 9 comments

blog-hopBelieve it or nor next Friday is Christmas. Woo hoo! My kids are excited and can’t wait for their Christmas present. We put up the Christmas tree without any decoration and ornaments today. I can’t find any decoration from the box which was place in the store I must have left it in the old house when we move out. So as of today the Christmas tree is up, and I shall look for some nice décor and ornaments tomorrow. Last year I did not put any Christmas décor as I was heavily pregnant.

So what to do with this Decorating for the Holidays Blog Hop post? I totally forgotten about it until I received The Frugal Housewife email. I shall end this post with the Christmas décor I took last year in 1Borneo shopping mall. Make your way to The Frugal Housewife to see what she has been up to.

December 10th, 2009 1 comment

Yet another baby contest from MBP with Cutest Baby SMILING theme and this will be the last contest for this year. Details are available at MomBloggersPlanet Cutest Baby Smiling Contest. The prizes as usual sponsored by PhotoBookMalaysia and AliceWonders and this are for Malaysian only.

Here is Caleb Jason Vun born on 8 Jan 2009, and he just turns 11 months a few days ago. The first picture taken recently when he turns 11 months and the second one taken February this year when he turns 1 month old. How time flies. Looking back when he was just a tiny baby, watching him grow and with all the milestones definitely brings memories, which are precious and never to be repeated again. I love to see His smile from his pure, innocent, charming and naughty smile melted my heart and brings joy to the family.
