Thanks to Jean for inviting me joining 5 Things Friday hosted at her site. Another fun blogging activity to do every Friday. Join the fun and play along. Visit Jean Stockdale for more info. This week 5 things Friday is about me. So here’s 5 things about me.
1. I’m not a coffee person, in fact, I don’t like the taste. However, since hubby loves it, I do join him once a while.
2. I love challenges and I work well under pressure. But now that I am a stay at home mom, the stress at home driving me crazy.
3. I struggle everyday reminding myself not to shout at my children, when I fail, I regret and feel so guilty.
4. I love watching my kids while they are asleep. So beautiful and peaceful
5. I’m not comfortable with height, I feel dizzy when I look down.
Since we move in I have not been able to organize all my books. Most of it is still in the box placed inside the store. I am really not good at organizing thing but I am learning. Talking about books, do you know that you can actually sell your books online? I have quite a number of school textbooks, which are given by friends and from my old school days. Yes, I still keep those textbooks, and I cannot use or pass them to my kids.
The education systems are changing every year and those textbooks are not relevant to current generation of learning. I decided to sale on used textbooks, since I don’t needs it anymore. At least I earn something from it. It looks like I am going to be busy this weekend unpacking those books and organizing thing at home. I will get the kids involve as well they will sure enjoy it.
My almost seven years old son is very active. He loves playing outdoor games. Such an active boy sometimes it is annoying. Now that the school is closed for a week, he is at home most of the time. He has been complaining of getting bored staying at home everyday. I was trying to distract him by offering him to go to the library and guess what he says “mommy I am not a reading kid, I am a playing kid”.
We stayed in a condominium and the only place he can go is the lobby area riding his bicycle.Yesterday he was watching baseball games on TV, and he was so interested in that game specially that baseball gloves. Then he starts asking question like how much is that, where can we buy, what brand is good, can we go and play baseball games? I’m wondering is there real baseball games here in Sabah? Anyone?
Nowadays, everyone owns a laptop at home. It is so convenient to bring about compare with the full features of a desktop minus the weight and size. One of the advantages of having a laptop is it dual power capabilities which you don’t have in a normal desktop computer. We use to have two laptops then we sell off the other one and replace it with a desktop computer.
The thing about laptop is certain accessories don’t really stay long. One of them is the device that supplies power to the laptop. Alternatively it’s also functions as a battery charger for the laptop. Rest-assured, as this laptop power supply is easily available at the shelf in most gadget shops, major departmental stores or even online store. I come across a website recently that sells various power supplies for laptop with a very reasonable price. I might consider purchasing one from them for an extra supply.

Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions. Proverbs 4:25 (The Message)
This verse is one of my big reminders. Often times I had a difficulty to focus on the thing that I need to accomplish. Every moment of my day being swayed with distractions sealed in an envelope with a word IMPORTANT and sometimes I am so preoccupied with distractions that I don’t know what my objective is. Whether we like or not distraction is one of our daily enemies and we need to condition our mind to deal effectively with it.

Be Aware and Care
I am stating my intention to be a more aware and caring mom/parent.
I am making a commitment to be aware of my words and actions and the effect that they have on my child.
I am willing to be more caring and compassionate whenever possible.
In the promise, what does “Aware” means?
To be aware of our parenting is to watch what effect we have in our communication and in our interactions.
To be aware means to make a choice to “try another way” if what we are saying and doing isn’t working.
To be aware means to make conscious choices for the greater benefit of all involved. In the promise, what does “Care” means?
“Care” means “to take care” in how we speak and how we act so that we are effective and achieve the most desirable results for the situation.
“Care” means to take that deep breath before we react in an inappropriate way and then ask, “Is this the most effective way to handle this?’
“Care” means to make opportunities to appreciate and be grateful for our children in order to foster the same within.
Phew…Knowing the fact that as a stay at home mom, my own behavior is on show 24/7 at home. I’m taking a deep breath right now praying and hoping that I could make it possible to be aware and care. I was digging my old files, and I found the above article from my parenting file which I can’t remember where I got it from. What a Beautiful Monday to be reminded.

Baby’s first few unsteady steps are one of those developmental milestones that I can never forget. It is one of the proudest moments that I can’t wait to see.
My son A walk by himself as early as 10 months by the time he reached 1 year he is everywhere running. My girl B starts her first step at 9 months and from there on she moves to a walking milestone. As for my soon 7-month baby C, he has started his first step recently (with mummy help of course). Here’s the picture of those priceless moments.

It is so encouraging to know that our children are in God’s hands, and that He is watching over them, even before they lived one day. I love this verse in The Message version. Visit The 160 Acrewoods for more Word Filled Wednesday.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day (Psalm 139:16)
